There are a lot of things that are "right" with these United States of America. We are a good nation with good intentions. We are strong, and we are proud. We have every right to be. Over a quarter-century ago, we put Man on the Moon. From an altitude of several miles, we can drop a bomb and arrange for it to be delivered to someone's chimney.
We didn't get where we are by being lazy. It is the duty of every citizen to remain vigilant, to preserve and protect our individual freedoms and respect the rights of others. It is our duty to become educated and stay up with current developments.
When I was in school, one of my least favorite subjects was history. Oddly enough, today I consider it to be one of the most important areas in the curriculum. And I am given cause for concern, because there are those who will present distorted views of history or stifle it completely. Yet, history is one of our greatest teachers and is instructive in virtually every area from architecture through zoology. We learn from past successes and previous failures. Distortion or suppression of history is nothing less than interference with the entire educational process.
So, in the pages that lie ahead, you can expect to read about what's right and good in the United States of America. You can also expect to read about danger signs, things that threaten our good nation, and what you can do to help keep us on course.
Every morning in Africa, a gazelle wakes up. It knows it must run faster than the fastest lion or it will be killed.Every moring, a lion wakes up. It knows it must outrun the slowest gazelle, or it will starve to death.
So, it doesn't matter whether you are a lion or a gazelle. When the Sun comes up, you'd better be ready." (Author unknown)
