Lescovitz Harrisburg, PA Vlescovi@pahouse.net Dear Sen. LaValle and Rep. Lescovitz: I=92m a divorced father of four children. Since my separation from my ex-= wife in 1992, I have become fully aware of the outrageous hostility and treachery of all three branches of state and federal government against fathers and the family.=20 All three branches are fully prepared, determined and armed to drag dad o= ut of the house and replace dad with Big Daddy and all his agents. Once dad evicted from his home (often by the strong-arm of the state), he is declared responsible and is to be held accountable. Then his wages are attached with confiscatory child-support awards and alimony, his assets a= re looted by the Courts and their agents, and finally he is labeled and branded as a dead-beat. And now you wonder where have all the fathers gon= e. Believe it or not, his children have similar thoughts, =93Where is my dad= dy?=94 The treachery of this Commonwealth against the family doesn=92t stop wit= h the father. Not long ago the General Assembly of Pennsylvania passed legislation to prosecute his children as adults in the criminal courts (h= is children must also be held responsible and accountable for their actions). His children are frequently neglected because the Commonwealth deprived them of not only a father, but also, a real family.. Evidence of the destruction of the traditional two-parent family is very much evident in the behavior of today=92s children. Pick up the newspaper on any given da= y and scan the headlines. How many metal-detectors will be installed and ho= w many armed guards will patrol tommorrow's schools? If we expect a civilized society tommorrow, then the epidemic of fatherle= ss America must be eradicated from our society today.=20 I would like to encourage and challenge you and your fellow lawmakers to adopt a public policy declaring the importance of the traditional two-parent family and specifically that both the father and mother are essential, integral and sacred members of the family unit which will be promoted, supported, defended and protected by this Commonwealth. Our children deserve both a father and mother in their lives and nothing less. I hope you agree, and I look forward your response.=20 Very truly yours, /s/ Jay H. Todd, Jr. cc:Gov.
