Free Email Services and Business
Have you noticed lately that yahoo.com and some other 'free' email sites are either blocking email or offline all together?
We have been communicating with other administrators from around the world which have been complaining about the problems in communicating to yahoo.com which was bouncing all Email communications, even from it's own subscribers.
As a contributor and a supporter to the Open Source community, we understand the business desire to reduce costs. That is why we cut our SpamZapper Email & Web Hosting services by 30% last July.
But seriously, if you (or if your customers) are trying to do business on the internet, do you want to do business with someone using a service which hides their actual location? Did you know that these services permit access from China, as well a the UK, or Russia?
I remain cautious whenever I do business on the internet. However, I am particularly sensitive to communications with individuals which are sending email from gmail, yahoo, hotmail .... I mean if they want to be taken seriously in business, why not use thier own domain names, instead of a free service. I always remain suspicious when I see these email addresses.
The point of the matter is that if you have a Web Site, with it's own Domain name then, you should have your own Email Service as well. Or better yet, let us connect our SpamZapper services to your Domain hosting needs. Tell a friend, and help us eliminate the spammers and their tactics.

Stop, Drop and Roll
These three steps are very useful for an emergency
situation; perhaps you learned them as a child.
That's right, they are meant to extinguish a fire on you.
Do you know what is necessary to protect your business in
the event your network has a failure, or is being attacked? If something happens within your business,
can you determine what caused the problem?
Quickly now, what do you know? Is
the network under an attack, or is there a failure?
Perhaps you can begin to see the question quickly becomes,
what do you know? If you have a network
monitor in place, perhaps you can tell if all of your network devices are
operational?
If you are not monitoring your environment, then who
is? If you are connected to the
Internet, then you can be sure that your connection(s) are being monitored,
around the clock, and not by your ISP!
In fact some ISPs are being sued for monitoring or throttling

This picture depicts a Denial of Service Attack (DOS) on an
internet based router connection. The
servers which are connected to the router will see all of the activity of the
DOS attack. Can your servers reduce the
effectiveness of the attack and make it a less desirable target as this depicts? Ours did.
We did not need to disconnect or deny services either. This attack was made during the week of
February 17th, 2008. 
Our
servers were protected with our own Active Defense.
Battle tested, and production ready.
While Active Defense was able to mitigate the DOS Attack, it also permitted our own servers to operate at Normal servers loads, and permit our customers access to our servers, normally.
