Spyware, Trojans, and other Malware are lurking on
the Internet just waiting to hijack your Browser
session, redirect your DNS, and even attempt to
update objects already on your computer.
You may not be aware that Spyware, and Trojans are
not always detected by some Virus scanners (or by
the one you are using, more importantly). Another
issue to consider is how often is the virus scanner
updated?
The virus scanners for our SpamZapper service are
checked every twenty minutes. While we know that
updates can occur hourly for our software, we want
to be able to determine that the update is available
more frequently. Thankfully our servers supports
thousands, and not all of our customers need to
check with their machines.
Can you imagine the drain on your company's
resources if everyone had to perform an update
check? How about if that occurred daily? Or hourly?
How about every twenty minutes?
You can see that's a considerable amount of scanning
checks. But remember, not all Virus scanners can
detect (or remove malware). Malware is defined at
the Wikipedia
here. Now does your Virus Scanner Stop Malware
(Trojans, Adware, Internet Worms ....), we can stop
their advances now, and not require that you use a
filter for the Web Browser.
What if there was another way? Now, there is. We
have upgraded our Servers to support the
redirection of more than 10,000 domains which are
known contributors and distributors of Malware.
In our environment, if Malware (or an Internet Worm)
is attempting to
'Phone Home', they will
instead get redirected back to us, and we can then
determine who's machine is infected, and remove the
infection. All of this happens before it infects
all of the other servers in your network.
We can track the use of these domains on
our servers. Our customers can rest safely
once again, as we deliver another layer of security
to protect their use of the Internet.
