The Internet has made communications extremely
simple for Users and Businesses to communicate with
each other. Virtually everyone is a router hop
(almost one network) away. When communications do
not happen in a matter of seconds, we begin to
wonder why.
Our SpamZapper solution includes the latest in
Intrusion Prevention Systems (which we helped to
develop), and has protected our servers since we
last moved them in July 2005! Depending on your
understanding on how the Internet works, this may or
may not appear to be a significant feature.
Because the Internet has drawn us all closer
together, imagine that everyone is your neighbor.
Some people you know very well, some people you have
never met. This is all good. Because we all live
together, we can all share in each other's successes
(we also have to share in each others problems as
well).
If everyone was able to protect their computers, and
had the best Intrusion Prevention Systems available,
there would not be a need for virus scanners,
pop-up blockers, SpyWare scanners, or other
precautions.
Some people have better protection than others, some
people still have none. So when the people with
little or no protection get onto the internet, they
are typically noticed within 3 minutes (see
Unprotected PCs Fall To Hacker Bots In Just Four
Minutes). This is amplified on the internet due
to the high number of machines, which are still
unprotected.
Our customers have been protected by our Active
Defense system. If
you want to do business on the Internet, then you
need protection. If you want reliability, then you
need ....
Active Defense. One of the biggest
advantages of Active Defense is it's ability to
permit valid communications, while denying unwanted
activity as well.
Because the internet has no boundaries, it also has
no
Official Police force, which protects the
internet or goes after the 'bad guys' (there are
activities which are being employed by Law
Enforcement, but they are outnumbered, and cannot
easily cross International borders).
Even for those which can monitor their own networks,
contacting the offending ISPs, Hosting Services, and
other organizations is not only a tireless effort,
but also a duanting effort when you attempt to
contact organizations oversees. In addition to the
language barriers, there are organizational issues
as well. Not all of the organizations overseas
support our efforts for a better internet.
While we support Law Enforcement efforts, as well as
notifying the organizations ourselves, we have lost
track how many notifications have been deleted
without being read. This just reinforces our
position, and also identifies those which are
willing to support our efforts for a better
internet.
Our Active Defense has thwarted more than 75,000+
attacks on our Servers already this year. As we
have already indicated, our servers have remained
on-line since we last powered them on, in July 2005.
We still continue our efforts to contact organizations
overseas, just as we also support other efforts, but
the number one reason for our servers remaining
on-line for so long, is because of Active Defense.
